Trivia

  • While designed to stand on its own, "Dario Jung and the GPS from Hell" also has strong connections to several other stories set in the Nightfire Universe. Additionally, the short story serves to set up a potential series of novels, in which Dario Jung is a supporting character, that would chronicle the paranormal investigations of the Anderson Bros. first mentioned in the novelette "Scarecrow."

  • The story takes place in the town of Nightfire, Texas, which was introduced in the novel Cry, Wolf: Shadow of the Werewolf. Hilltop, mentioned in this story, was also introduced as a key location in the novel.

  • The story features the characters Luke Anderson, who was introduced in the short story "Night Light," and Jasper Anderson, who is the reincarnation of Jasper Sorry from the novelette "Night Light II: The Trial of Ooga Booga". The paranormal investigations they do for YouTube videos were first mentioned in the novelette "Scarecrow."

  • The ghostly California hotel that the Anderson brothers are editing investigation footage from at the beginning of this story is the same hotel featured in the short story "The Christmas Spirit."

  • The Alexas Mansion, mentioned as the site of another of the brothers' investigations, was introduced as the home of the vampire Valen Alexas in the novella The Chronicles of Nightfire, Texas, Volume I: The Vampire Murders, as was Dan Parker's Bar and Grill, where Dario stopped for a veggie burger and some fries.
