Trivia
- "The Rainbow-Colored Sheep" was written in 1997 in response to a letter the author recieved
from a conservative group within the United Methodist Church asking for money to help battle homosexuality, claiming that
gay people were dividing the church. Originally intending to mail the story directly to the Good News organization, the author
realized it would fall upon deaf ears and opted to publish it for the masses instead.
- "The Rainbow-Colored Sheep" was Glenn Slade Clark, Jr.'s debut publication, launching his
first Web site in June of 1999.
- Unsatisfied with the lamb on the illustration she had created to accompany the story on her
brother's new Web site, artist Valerie Clark produced a second sheep, cut it out, and taped it over the first sheep for
the final artwork.
- When the story was collected in the author's anthology, The Great Debate, the most
unsatisfying aspect of the new book for the author was the irony of reprinting the illustration for "The Rainbow-Colored Sheep"
in grayscale.
